Words

They can build you up quick, but tear you down even faster. Words can help. Words can heal. Words can also fucking hurt, and the ramifications last a lifetime.

Some people throw words around like a hand grenade with no idea the damage they cause, and it’s heartbreaking.

Words.

One, ‘you’re fat,’ erases one hundred, ‘you’re beautiful.’

WORDS

It only takes one ‘I don’t care about you.’ to erase one hundred, ‘I love you’s.’

Words

One, ‘you’re an idiot,’ erases one hundred, ‘you’re so smart.’

Unfortunately, some of us are just collateral damage in someone else’s war with themselves. They spit venom and then wonder why no one wants to be around them. They tell people they aren’t good enough and to fuck off, and then wonder why they do.

Words can help people love themselves, but really fucking hate themselves as well. There is no reason to be mean. None. Taking someone’s insecurities, or shortcomings and using them against them is the most craptastic thing you can do. Truly a dick move.

Don’t be that person, and if you know a person like that, distance yourself. Their internal storm will eventually destroy everything in its path. Why? Because making you feel like shit, makes whatever hurts inside of them feel better.

Who knows why. I don’t make the rules. Shitty people just say shitty things I guess. I often wonder if they have children that are , 1) being talked to the same way. Or: 2) being raised to repeat the cycle and become shitty people as well.

It’s perfectly acceptable to be kind. In fact, it’s encouraged… But for fucks sake if you can’t be kind, be quiet. Your words cannot be unsaid, but most importantly, they can’t be UNFELT by the person you ripped apart. Just like the crumpled up piece of paper analogy: you can flatten the paper, but it will never be the same.

Mean people suck. Nice people swallow.

Words can be the very worst weapon. Keep that in mind the next time you decide to call someone fat.

Until next time,
