Because It Should Be

Who is in your corner?

Think about all of the people in your life that love you no matter what. Make a list of names. Who is the first name on that list? Is it you? Is your name at the top of your own list?

Because it should be.

Who advocates for you? Who speaks up on your behalf when someone hurts you? Is it you?

Because it should be.

Who loves you no matter how many times you fuck up? Is it you?

Because it should be.

Here’s the thing about life, it gets incredibly messy. We do stupid shit. We SAY stupid shit. We hurt people. We shut people out. We make bad decisions all of the damn time. We use our mess up moments to define who we are. We refuse to embrace the good in us , because all we can see is the bad. We put ourselves in these ‘not good enough’ boxes, to try and prove to ourselves that we are, in fact, not good enough. Even when we are.

Who shows you grace, upon grace, upon grace? Even when you know that you absolutely 💯 do not deserve it? Is it you?

BECAUSE IT SHOULD BE.

Why? Great question, I’m glad you asked. Let me tell ya why…

Jesus.

He loves me when I don’t love myself, which is more often than not. He loves you too. I matter to Him even when I don’t feel good enough, and so do you.

When I can’t find my way out, He comes to find me.

Not because that’s how it should be.

Simply because to Him, I am worth finding.

So are you.
